Gafcon, Inc. Honored with Awards from Construction Management Association of America San Diego Chapter

CMAA bestows Friend of the Industry Award and President’s Special Service Award on Gafcon executives and honors several Gafcon clients at annual event.

Fred Parker, VP, PM/CM Public, accepted Gafcon's 2022 Friend of the Industry Award.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. (June 9, 2022) – Gafcon, Inc. and its leadership team was recently honored with multiple awards – including the prestigious Friend of the Industry Award – at the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) San Diego Chapter’s Project Achievement Awards.

Fred Parker, Gafcon Vice President, PM/CM (Program Management/Construction Management) Public, accepted the 2022 Friend of the Industry Award on behalf of the company. Marty Glaske, Gafcon Senior Vice President, Client Development, was honored with the 2022 President's Special Service Award.

“It’s very meaningful and special to be recognized for our leadership in the construction industry and for the dedicated and professional service we provide to our owner-clients,” said Gafcon CEO Yehudi “Gaf” Gaffen. “I want to thank the Construction Management Association of America San Diego Chapter for honoring our team with these awards.” 

The CMAA Annual Awards Banquet took place May 5, 2022 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The ceremony highlighted the best projects that serve as an example to the industry and are true pinnacles of excellence and innovation. The mission of CMAA is to promote and enhance leadership, professionalism, and excellence in managing the development and construction of projects and programs.

Several of Gafcon’s clients were honored at the event. Katy Wright, Executive Director of Facilities at Grossmont Union High School District, was recognized as the Distinguished Owner Honoree. Additional clients who received recognition included Lee Dulgeroff, Chief of Facilities Planning and Construction at San Diego Unified School District; and Ken Emmons, Senior Director of Districtwide Facilities, Planning, and Development at Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District; both of whom were acknowledged as Owner Honorees.
