High School Rededication

02/10/16

02/19/16 - Grossmont Union High School District celebrates the rededication of Buildings 700, 800 & 800A on Thursday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m.

The $7.6 million project at Monte Vista High School involved the renovation and modernization of three outdated buildings, totaling nearly 32,000 square feet, as well as related site work. The project was completed in two phases to most effectively accommodate the school’s schedule.

The 700 Building features an all-new kitchen, which supplies meals for the entire campus, and two classrooms for the school’s music programs. The 800 Building includes new computer labs to support the school's game design CTE pathway, new ASB facility, new student weight room, student restrooms, and office space and storage. The 800A Building houses the auto and metals CTE programs.

The seven-month project also involved roadway restoration at the campus entry, as well as landscape and tree planting as campus and community enhancements.

Grossmont UHSD selected Gafcon in 2007 to provide program management services for its Props H & U bond programs.
