Gafcon Management oversaw the planning, design, and construction of the College Safety Repair and Improvement (SRID) bond, known as Measure G. The bond financed the construction of new buildings and renovation of existing facilities to meet Kern Community College District's growing population and educational requirements. It is one of the largest community college districts in the U.S., spanning four counties and serving more than 44,000 students annually. The bond program included the renovation of four community colleges, five satellite campuses, and development of two sites for new college campuses.
We also provided staff augmentation services to fill the role of the District’s Director of Facilities. Gafcon Management worked with District staff to successfully integrate program/project cost management software with the District’s Banner Finance accounting system, as well as developing the District’s design standards manual along with program management and construction management processes across all KCCD campuses.
