Gafcon provided pre-construction and construction management services for the $13.5M renovation of the Congregation Shir Ha-Ma'a lot temple in Irvine, CA. The project included modernization of the existing two-story building that houses a 2,375 SF sanctuary, social hall, classrooms, and administrative facilities and offices. It also included the construction of a new 12,400 SF, one-story building that provided additional administrative office space and 2,800 SF of worship space with 250 seats expandable into the adjacent 3,900 SF social hall. Other improvements included parking, playgrounds, and space set aside for a future garden. Gafcon leveraged relationships with local architects to increase interest in the project, ultimately resulting in the selection of an architect and design that came in $250K under the estimated budget with improved aesthetics over the initial conceptual design.
