The 22nd District Agricultural Association (DAA), managed by a nine-member Board of Directors appointed by the Governor of the State of California, retained Gafcon to manage a multiple project improvement program at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The scope of work included a new satellite wagering facility, a new horse arena and barns, a grandstand, and major upgrades of site infrastructure.
Gafcon provided construction management services on the horse arena and barn infrastructure and provided early pre-planning assistance to the Board on the grandstand. During the construction phase, Gafcon provided contract administration, as well as inspection and schedule oversight services to coordinate the work with other ongoing events and facilities at the Fairgrounds. Gafcon also provided estimating, scheduling and design oversight, acted as development manager, and provided highest and best use feasibility studies for the Association.
