Gafcon, Inc. provided owner’s representative and construction management services for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Weyburn Terrace Graduate Student Housing project. Designed to create a vibrant urban center to serve its residents and the adjacent housing complexes, the 275,000 SF project is comprised of student housing, student support areas, meeting and reception rooms, and administrative offices. Weyburn Terrace received LEED Gold Certification for its many sustainable elements used throughout.
Gafcon, Inc.’s team collaborated closely with the District’s Facilities Department, architects, and contractor to complete construction in time for the fall semester. To ensure the project remained on schedule, Gafcon, Inc. designed an online document management and information controls system used to share documents and expedite decision making. Gafcon, Inc. provided pre-construction, contract management, communications and outreach, constructability review, scheduling, cost estimating, and LEED certification support.
