3/14/17 - San Diego Business Journal - Gafcon Gets $22M School District Project in Santa Monica
San Diego’s Gafcon Inc. has been selected to provide construction management and other project-related oversight services for a $22 million district-wide improvement project by the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

A Gafcon statement said the district is undertaking a three-year program of school building ventilation improvements to improve learning environments for students. Officials said Gafcon was selected due to its prior experience managing one of the largest school ventilation-system programs in the state, for the San Diego Unified School District, among other similar projects in Southern California.

The Santa Monica project is funded by Measure ES, passed by state voters in 2012. Classroom ventilation systems at 16 buildings are slated to be overhauled in order to make them cooler and more energy efficient, and also to improve indoor air quality.

Led by CEO Yehudi Gaffen and President Pam Gaffen, the family-owned Gafcon Inc. provides construction consulting and management services for public, private and education projects. The company has its headquarters in Sorrento Valley and a regional office in Los Angeles.
